The natural density of the Spanish clay helps to keep your liquid refreshment chilled. While the word “sangría” is playfully hand painted on the exterior, we’ve been known to fill our pitcher with lemonade or ice water as well! There are many recipes for sangría out there. Feel free to experiment and to adjust the balance of Spanish red wine, sparkling clear soda and fruit juices to your liking. Most sangrías in Spain will contain red wine, a splash of orange juice, a glass of orange liqueur (like Cointreau), a sprinkling of sugar, a cinnamon stick, and generous chunks of whatever fruit is in season such as peaches, apples, lemons, and oranges. Mix that concoction together and let “season” over night (if you can wait that long). Then, add a portion of chilly sparkling water, a bit of ice and serve. Enjoy! (close) |
