We also enjoy using this size cazuela to serve marcona almonds fresh from the oven to our guests at family gatherings.Since the days of ancient Rome, these timeless terracotta dishes have been an essential feature in every kitchen. When archaeologists conduct excavations on Roman-era sites in Spain, fragments of cazuelas are a sure sign of a domestic (home) site and can tell us much about the early origins of Spain’s culinary traditions.
Handcrafted near Breda, Cataluñya the form and function of our cazuelas honour an age-old terracotta tradition stretching back to the days of Ancient Rome. The clear glaze seals the interior of each unique cazuela rendering it ready for your every culinary creation.
We advise that you "season" your cazuelas before heating on the stove or in the oven by letting them soak for an hour or two in water. We include instructions with your shipment and should you have questions.
