Thanks for shopping at La Tienda. We have implemented every possible safeguard to ensure the security and privacy of your transactions with us.
Secure Shopping
All of your order information is confidential and encrypted so it cannot be accessed by anyone outside of LaTienda.com. We use the industry leading technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to ensure that your information and credit card number are safely transported online. Our security supplier is Verisign. Their logo is prominent on all of our shopping cart pages when you are ordering. Click on their logo and they will show proof of our secure certificate.
Another way to find out if your transaction is guarded by SSL is this: when you click CHECKOUT in your shopping cart, look for the picture of the unbroken key or closed lock in your browser window (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator and most other browsers use SSL). Either indicator means SSL is hard at work.
Still another easy way you can tell if SSL is guarding your transaction is to check the URL address at the top of the page. It should change from "http" to "https" when processing secure transactions.
Lastly, we have hired the services of "Hacker Safe" and "Protect Point". Hacker Safe continually scans our ports, looking for a chink in our armour and then immediately alerts us if any vulnerabilities are found. Protect Point is a hardware device that filters all incoming webtraffic, blocking any suspicious page requests.
Cookies
Cookies are tiny pieces of information that are temporarily stored by your hard drive, and used for record keeping purposes (for instance, to save what you put in your shopping cart). We use cookies to make visiting and using our site easier. Most web browsers accept cookies. You can enable cookies as shown below, or you can call us at our toll free number.
To Change Your 'Cookies' Settings:
You can change your browser option to accept cookies by: Internet Explorer - on your top menu bar, select "Tools" and "Internet Options". Select the "Privacy" tab and then click "Advanced". Under "First Party Cookies", click "Accept" and hit "OK".
Netscape Navigator/Communicator - on your top menu bar, select "Edit" and "Preferences". Select "Privacy and Security" and click "Cookies". Click "Enable All Cookies" then "OK".
Firefox - on your top menu bar, select "Tools" and then "Options". Select the "Cookies" area and check the box to say "Allow Sites to Set Cookies" then "OK".
In accordance with Spanish law (la Ley Orgánica 15/1999 de 13 de diciembre de Protección de Datos de Carácter Personal (LOPD) - Spanish Data Protection statute of law) all details supplied by the user will be incorporated into an automatic filing system. All material will be used only for the purpose described.
This will be gathered via the corresponding and appropriate forms, and these will contain only the fields necessary to provide the service required by the user. Personal details will be treated with an adequate degree of protection, as stipulated by law (Real Decreto 994/1999 de 11 de junio - Royal Decree of Spanish Law), all measures taken to avoid change, alteration, loss, or access that is not authorised, by third parties who might use them for ends other than those requested by the user.
In the case that it is considered pertinent to cede personal details to other entities the user will be informed explicitly of the end use of the file, the data ceded and the name and address of the recipient(s) so that he or she may grant his or her unequivocal consent with this respect.
Finally, the user may exercise his or her rights of objection, access, rectification or cancellation in accordance with Spanish law, or simply for whatever consultation or personal comment in this respect, via the sending of a notification via email to service@latienda.com or by writing to:
